Jobs and the Economy

A New Day for South Carolina: Vincent Sheheen's Plan to Create Jobs
As governor, Vincent will personally lead the state's efforts to recruit robust industry and new jobs. Whether meeting with business leaders or heads of foreign countries, he will aggressively pursue economic development opportunities for South Carolina.

Government Reform

Fixing Our Broken System
Our state government is broken. Its flawed structure has left us with massive inefficiencies and a lack of accountability. Neither the executive branch nor the legislative branch is meeting the demands of the modern age. As governor, I will continue to push for greater accountability, increased efficiency, and reform of the governmental process.

Education

Getting Back To The Basics In Our Schools
All of South Carolina's children should have the opportunity to excel in school. Unfortunately, too many of our rural counties are unable to adequately fund their schools. As governor, Vincent will work to change the system so that our schools are equitably funded – by pupil, not by district – to ensure that no child is shortchanged.

The Environment

Conserving Our Natural Resources
Vincent is proud to have been name a “Conservation Champion” for my work in the state senate. Together we can conserve our state’s God-given natural areas while enhancing our economic potential.

Health Care

Making Care More Accessible and Affordable
Too many middle class South Carolinians struggle to afford basic health care. If we were to bring the cigarette tax in our state to a reasonable level – even just half the national average – we could provide small employers and workers with real relief from the high cost of health insurance.
