It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!

"Dah-dah-dah-dah ... dah-dah-dah-dah-dah! It's the final countdown!" (We've been singing that song all day here at the Sheheen for Governor headquarters.)

It is the final countdown to 2010, and we're fewer than 100 new donors away from meeting our goal of 2,010 contributors by 2010! Will you forward this email to 5 of your friends and ask them to join Team Sheheen by making a small donation?

Here at the Sheheen for Governor headquarters, volunteers are entering data, the phones are buzzing, and the coffee is disappearing. Vincent has been criss-crossing the state for months now -- talking with South Carolinians and sharing his plans to create jobs, restore civility in the state house, and put the Palmetto State back on track to fulfill its potential. Every day our grassroots team across the state is growing larger. Things are in full swing, and it's definitely time for some campaign t-shirts.

Notes from the campaign trail

One of the most exciting things about campaigning for governor is that it gives me a chance to learn about innovative and enterprising businesses around South Carolina.
 
I recently toured Wild Creations, a growing business in Myrtle Beach that manufactures award-winning EcoQuariums.  A finalist for the 2010 Toy of the Year Awards, Wild Creations also partners with the Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs Board to employ workers with disabilities to help assemble its products.
 
Last month, I was privileged to tour RJ Rockers brewery in Spartanburg. RJ Rockers is a business on the move in South Carolina, having recently won a Gold Medal for one of its beers at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. RJ Rockers is also on the leading edge in sustainability initiatives that help the earth as well as its bottom line – such as using solar panels to preheat boiler water, and recycling 99% of its waste.
